Meet Dr. Scully

Dr. Allison Scully

Dr. Allison Scully, DDS, MS

Dr. Scully grew up in St. Louis, MO with her parents, older sister, older brother, and twin sister. Throughout high school, she enjoyed volunteering in the local hospitals and with ISkate, a group that helps children with special needs learn to ice skate. Dr. Scully went to Rice University in Houston, TX for her undergraduate degree where she majored in bioengineering and had the opportunity to work on a team that invented a motion sensor to help doctors track their patients with cerebral palsy progress in gross and fine motor skills. After college, Dr. Scully returned to Indianapolis to be closer to her extended family and to obtain her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. While in dental school, she was able to spend a lot of time volunteering throughout Indiana educating children and parents about the importance of oral health as well as participating in oral health screenings. Dr. Scully helped organize events as president of Student’s United for America’s Toothfairy and was also able to volunteer through Kids Club and Student Professionalism and Ethics Association. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Scully knew that she wanted to learn more about helping patients with special needs and very young patients. She attended the University of Michigan’s Pediatric Dentistry Residency program where she was exposed to clinical dentistry and hospital dentistry in both Ann Arbor, MI and Flint, MI. Dr. Scully graduated with a certificate and Master’s Degree with a research focus on the medical management of caries.

Dr. Scully is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She works as a clinical assistant professor in the Pediatric Dentistry department at Indiana University School of Dentistry. In her free time, Dr. Scully enjoys playing with her puppy, Lucy, and spending time with her grandma and aunts and uncles in Indiana playing cards and doing jigsaw puzzles. Dr. Scully is excited to help promote good oral health in Indiana and help kids have a positive and fun experience at the dentist.
